Why are there resorts that you don't sell?
We
only offer a
limited number of resorts and other special one-of-a-kind properties
(that are NOT all-inclusive) because we believe
it is ultimately important for our staff to be very
knowledgeable about each of the properties we
offer, plus, quite frankly, many other resorts don’t reach the level
of excellence and the value: quality quotient we feel comfortable in
offering our customers! If there is a resort missing that you wish to
book please use your local travel agency. If we receive just TWO
complaints in a year from our travelers - we remove that resort from
our website for two years (minimum).
Top
Why do you offer such deep discounts?
“Because we can” comes to mind, but in reality it’s because it’s just
good business. Lower rates with some top-end service goes a long, long
way in today’s marketplace and that means we get more business than
most of the competitors out there. We help keep our overhead down by
asking our customers to use our site and the information contained on
our site to narrow their choices to just two (2) resort properties. By
doing this we can spend more quality time with our callers and less busy time verifying availability, special rates and
conditions, and the other details required to make sure you receive
the very best of the best.

How much should I tip?
Fijian and Tahitian resorts may not always include tips (see the
resort of your choice, on this site, for details).
Otherwise most all-inclusive resorts state that "gratuities are
include". Tipping is simply not the practice at MANY of the
all-inclusive resort we offer. However, tipping is customary for all
airport baggage personnel, cab drivers etc. In these instances $0.50 a
bag or 10% of the cost of the ride is more than adequate.

All of
our resorts have in-room safe deposit boxes with only a few exceptions
where lock boxes are provided at the front desk.
Top

Are there medical facilities at the resorts?

In the event of a medical emergency, a qualified medical doctor is on
call 24 hours a day. If a doctor is called, there will be a charge.

Why do you accept a request for only two quotes?
Roads
Less Taken is a discount travel company. We specialize in a very
exclusive niche market and are not a full-service travel agency. When
we ask our travelers to request not more than two quotes this helps us
offer you some truly discounted rates…because it helps keep our
manpower cost down. We ask that you use the detailed information on
our site and the hyperlinks to resort properties throughout our site
to familiarize yourself with the properties you are most interested
in. All of this is because confirming prices (our site provides you
with, what we believe to be, the most current rates available) and
checking availability of the room category you desire, takes a great
deal of our time and the majority of our manpower every day!
Top
How can you offer lower prices than my travel agent?
We
offer discounted packages to only a select number of resorts and
select one-of-a-kind properties. Because we limit the scope of our
expertise, not only do we become very knowledgeable about each property
we work with,
but, we complete a large number of reservations for them. High volume
bookings mean lower rates for our travelers!

How do we book a vacation with Roads Less Taken?
1.
Take
your time and research your choice of destinations on our site and try
to bring your choices down to two vacations.
2. Call us (800.730.3277), fax us
(214.488.2309) or email us (
info@roadslesstaken.com ) and request a
24-hour guaranteed quote from one of our specialist. If you need
airfare to be included please request it at the time you request the
guaranteed quote. Within the hour we will get back to you with our
lowest possible rate! Remember, the quote will only be good for 24
hours and based on availability at the actual time of booking.
3. After you get our quote and, within 24
hours, are ready to make your reservation. We can answer any further
questions you may have when we re-confirm your reservation.
4. To make your reservation, you need to

your booking reservation. Then you will receive your vacation package,
with everything you need, approximately 21 days prior to departure.
The vacation package includes (when applicable) vouchers for
transportation to/from the airport and your resort, the resort
voucher, any airline tickets booked with the package.

Who is Roads Less Taken?
Though we are not (yet) the largest discount travel group on-line we
are well positioned in that elite group where volume sales mean
extraordinary discounts for our travelers…And, though we are not the
oldest travel group on the internet we are recognized within the
travel industry as a well established specialist for all-inclusive
and highend vacations, honeymoons and destination weddings. (Better
Business Bureau)
We are one of the world's
premier agencies in the niche market for all-inclusive honeymoon and
destination wedding travel as well as the highend (not all-inclusive)
ultra-deluxe resorts scattered throughout the world. First conceived in 1999 under the name
Weddings & Honeymoons Travel, Roads Less Taken now caters mainly to
“couples only” travelers while two of our sister sites cater to
other niche markets. (go to
About Us
for more details)
By choice, we are NOT a
full service travel agency. We specialize in a few niche markets
and we rely on you to use our site to familiarize yourself with those
properties we offer. You receive the same resort benefits, same
"specials" and same package from Roads Less
Taken as you would receive from going directly to any of the resorts
we offer, only our rates are better!

What should I wear?
Pack as light a possible. Casual wear such as shorts, tank tops, swim
suits, short-sleeved shirts, sundresses and light slacks are the
perfect day-wear fashion at most resorts we offer. Breakfast and lunch
is beach casual with usually nothing more required than a cover up
over your swimwear and flip flop sandals. At night, "casually
elegant." is proper attire is required for dinner.
Elegant dress shorts are permitted in some
restaurants. Long pants and collared shirts are required at most of
the specialty restaurants but ties and suits are not required.
However, gentlemen will need slacks, a pair of close-toed shoes and a sports jacket for a
few of the more “formal” restaurants on a few properties. No
beachwear, shorts, tank tops or bare feet, please.

What else should I bring?
Exercise Clothes - Every resort has a complete fitness center, so
bring exercise clothes.
Tennis Racquets - Tennis racquets and balls are often provided, unless
you prefer to bring your own.
Golf Clubs – If you know you can play and you are a fanatic…bring your
own clubs…otherwise most resorts offering golf are able to rent clubs
to you.
Diver Certification Card - Equipment for scuba diving is provided by
the resorts, however you're welcome to bring your own. You must
remember your diver certification cards to enjoy full diving
privileges.
Sun Protection – As most of our resorts are “sun and sand” resorts the
sun is very strong, so we recommend bringing sun essentials:
sunscreen, suntan lotion, sunglasses, hats and visors. If you forget
any of these items you can always purchase them at the gift shops or
many of these items may be provided you as you check in to some of the
resorts!!

With RARE exceptions, all of
the packages we offer include transfers to and from the airport. Once
you have cleared customs at the airport you will proceed to the lobby
area where a representative for your resort will greet you. You give
them your resort voucher and they will escort you to your
transportation.
Top
How much money should I take with me?
One of
the best things about the all-inclusive vacation, we offer is the fact
that once you're at your resort, you don't need to spend a cent!
However, should you decide to visit some of the local attractions or
take advantage of some of the outstanding shopping bargains, you will
need money. Most merchants will accept US Dollars or traveler’s
checks, as well as Visa and MasterCard. It's a good idea to bring US
bills in smaller denominations so you don't get a lot of change in the
local currency.
DEPARTURE TAXES are not always included in the cost of an all-inclusive vacation. Roads Less Taken will inform you prior to your departure should departure taxes NOT be included. Usually these taxes range from $9 per person to $65 per person depending on your destination.
