Group Sessions
Body Core Strength
Integrate core conditioning into your sports activities, workout, or
yoga practice. Enhance core/abdominal strength, increase postural
alignment, build balance and ensure stamina. This session will
include a warming yoga flow and end with energy restoring
relaxation. Yoga experience is not necessary.
BreathwalkTM Breathwalk is a powerful
aerobic exercise program integrating specific patterns of breathing,
walking and meditative awareness. Easy to learn and sophisticated in
design, this particular Breathwalk program is for clarity and
improved alertness with an increase in focused energy. Breathwalk
adapts to all fitness levels and walking styles, and also increases
runners' endurance. Appropriate walking shoes are recommended.
Chakra Meditation This guided meditation balances
the body's seven centers of energy, known as chakras. The chakras
correspond to the body's neural and hormonal systems. As you recline
on a cushioned mat, this relaxing session creates a sense of balance
so your life energy can flow freely. Carl Jung describes these
centers as 'gateways to consciousness'.
Meditation for Quieting the Mind Go beyond the
surface of everyday mental clutter to the natural state of the mind.
Experience the power of a simple meditation practice to heighten
awareness and access your true inner Self, as you sit comfortably in
a chair. Receive a brief overview of the technique and practice.
Beginners are welcome.
Mindfulness Meditation on the Beach Awaken and
expand your awareness in the present moment. Liberate yourself. Feel
more connected as you move, encounter and interact with nature
mindfully. As we learn to live more fully, vibrantly, a whole new
world of discovery begins to unfold.
Nature Walk (complimentary) The grounds of Caneel
reflect the diversity of the tropical world with over 1000 species
of native and introduced plants. Join Oriel Smith as he guides you
on a fascinating interactive walking tour around the grounds of
Turtle Bay and discover the plant life that surrounds you. Find out
about the medicinal properties of the native plants.
Partner Yoga Two can be twice the fun. This
session is for couples, friends or family members and for beginners
or yoga practitioners alike. Learn how to support and adjust one
another as you position yourselves in a sequence of yoga postures
and move in synchronicity. Add a new dimension to your relationship.
Self Centre Sampler Indulge yourself and journey
into a state of inner calm. Combining aspects of six sessions into
one unique experience, this session begins with a series of
stretches and breathing practices to release tension, mental clutter
and stress. As you recline on a cushioned mat with a soothing eye
pillow, you will be guided through a blend of relaxation techniques
that further ease the body and invite peace of mind.
Star Gazing: Stories in the Stars (complimentary)
Enjoy the tropical night sky with a blend of astronomy and myth.
Kelley Hunter will help you identify stars and constellations, some
not seen in the northern sky, and share their stories from various
cultures. You will receive a guide map of the sky. Stars are for all
ages.
The Rhythm of Relationships for Couples Be more
in-tune with your partner. Through playful practices and awakening
the senses, discover how you can relate on a deeper level that
increases sensitivity, intimacy and compassion. Experience the art
of communicating and listening to the body's language to bring about
a heartfelt sense of awareness and connection. Founding director,
Jan Kinder, created this session exclusively for The Self Centre.
T'ai Chi and Qi Gong on the Beach This session
combines T'ai Chi and Qi Gong into gentle flowing meditative
movement exercises that cultivate our life force, known as chi. As
you align your mind, body and spirit, absorb the surrounding beauty,
wash away the busy mind and settle into island time. Bring
synchronicity into life. Beginners are welcome.
Total Body Relaxation As you recline on a
cushioned mat, learn how to let go of unnecessary tension in the
physical, mental and emotional bodies. Invite yourself to experience
the benefits of a systematic relaxation technique to re-awaken and
feel the body. Use the power of your imagination to replenish and
conserve energy through guided imagery. Reconnect to a sense of
wholeness.
Twilight Drumming (offered as a special event)
Rediscover your rhythmical spirit, the pulse and rhythm of life that
lives inside all of us. Play, have fun, and be inspired as you join
the powerful feeling of drumming. Together create a place of inner
harmony and unity. An assortment of African drums and instruments is
provided. No experience necessary.
Vinyasa Flow Yoga This 75-minute session is for
experienced yoga practitioners. Based on the principles of Hatha
yoga, this dynamic session will focus you mentally and physically as
you build strength, endurance and flexibility. Yoga poses are linked
together by sequences to provide an energizing, physically
challenging experience.
Yoga for Relaxation Through simple stretches and
poses based on Hatha yoga, you will use the body's natural range of
movement to bring attention to the body, connect with the breath and
center the mind. Loose comfortable attire suitable for stretching on
the floor is recommended. Beginners are welcome.

Wellness Treatments
Tuning the Body SM: Vibrational Sound Therapy This
individual treatment, conducted on a massage table, uses the
vibrations of tuning forks to harmonize the body/mind. Tune-in and
experience how this particular sound therapy travels deep into the
body inviting blocked energy to move, or for more simulated energy
to explore stillness. The tuning forks stimulate and balance the
body's physical and subtle energy, helping to release physical,
mental and emotional tension. Specific tuning forks are placed on
certain points along the spine, awakening the nerve centers. The
effect is helpful for stress relief or to experience deep
relaxation, and the health benefits are many. This ancient science
of sound therapy technique draws from the revolutionary research of
Fabien Maman. This therapy is not massage and does not manipulate
the physical body. Loose comfortable clothing is recommended. 75

Jing Energy Flow Therapy SM The easing of energy
blocks that have come to rest within our bodies is the essence of Jing Energy Flow Therapy. This highly specialized energy therapy
blends the principles of Chinese healing modalities and energy
medicine, together with the gifted intuitive skills of the
practitioner. The preventative effect is beneficial for regenerating
depleted energy or moving the blocks that increase tension and
stress. Typical experiences with this modality are deep relaxation,
warmth, tingling, calmness or sleep - all natural expressions of
energy release. You lie down for most of the session, and depart
with personalized instructions or a movement sequence to continue
when you return home. This therapy is not massage and does not
manipulate the physical body. Tune up, recharge and plug into a
socket full of vibrant energy in this 75-minute session. Loose
comfortable clothing is recommended.
R & R Therapy: Restore and Renew This passive
therapy, using restorative yoga positions and guided breathing, is
designed for anyone feeling tired or depleted due to stress or
illness. Prior experience or knowledge of yoga is not necessary. Use
no energy to regain energy is the principle behind this treatment.
Relax and rejuvenate as your body is guided into specific
comfortable poses supported by yoga blankets and props. The focus is
on releasing tension and increasing circulation as you are
positioned to receive restoring energy. Each treatment is
personalized to benefit your physical, mental and emotional well
being. This treatment is also offered for couples. 75 minutes.
Private Consultation
Astrology Consultations Astrology is a tool for
self-knowledge, revealing the larger meaning of our personal
experiences. Your horoscope, based on the date, time and place of
your birth, gives a map of the planetary patterns under which you
were born. This birth chart is like a blueprint of your life.
Prediction of events is not the main purpose. While your date, time
and place of birth are needed, there is still much information to be
gained from the planetary pattern of the day if your birth time is
not known. You will receive a tape of your session.
Personal Astrology This consultation includes a
full introduction to your chart discussing basic life patterns,
strengths, challenges and purpose. Current influences and cycles are
noted with an overview of the year. 60 minutes
Couples' Astrology Honoring the integrity of each
person, we will explore the meaning of the bond between two people.
Using astrology as the foundation, we will discuss emotional needs
and dynamics, communication, underlying expectations, lessons to be
learned alone and together, and the potential for shared growth over
time. You are invited to inquire about specific areas of interest,
so bring your questions. 90 minutes
Family Astrology The family session is geared
towards helping parents, children and teen understand each other
more clearly as individuals to increase communication, family
harmony and mutual appreciation. Allow 90 minutes for a family of 3
and two hours for a family of 4.
Business Astrology Does the timing of events make
a difference? More businesses are watching planetary cycles to
enhance their success. This informative session is an introduction
to business and financial astrology in the context of the larger
astrological overview of the times. Consider a few simple and
effective tips for using astrology in your business and on the stock

Ayurvedic Lifestyle Consultation Ayurveda is the
science of life. The traditional medicine of India, this ancient
holistic healing system of preventive healthcare is gaining
acceptance in the West as it evolves to fit today's way of life.
Ayurveda holds that everything one interacts with and experiences in
life plays an important role in well being. Restoring and
maintaining balance is the key to maximizing and managing one's
health. In this session, we discuss the principles behind Ayurveda
and explore the physical characteristics, mental qualities and
emotional tendencies that determine your unique body type. You
receive personalized suggestions on daily practices to restore
balance, reduce stress, increase vitality and maintain health

Primordial Sound Meditation Program Learned in
four sessions, Deepak Chopra, M.D, revived this mantra meditation
technique. A mantra is a sound without a specific meaning, and it
helps to take our awareness away from the frenzy of daily activity
of the mind to the stillness of our spirit. This meditation practice
includes an introduction to the basic principles, individual
instruction in your personal mantra, practical aspects of meditation
and exploring the higher states of consciousness. The fee includes
your detailed workbook and cost for the Chopra Center to determine
your mantra.
