The oceanfront Kahala Mandarin Oriental, Hawaii, set on a secluded bay, is just ten minutes from the world class shopping and entertainment of Waikiki Beach. Rooms and Suites
Our 331 beautiful rooms and 33 sumptuous suites are a study in luxury. Every one is generously proportioned and furnished in traditional, turn-of-the-century Hawaiian style with a modern twist. All have the option of a romantic, four-poster bed and panoramic views of either the Pacific Ocean, Ko’olau Mountain Range, Diamond Head and Koko Head craters, or the tranquil Dolphin Lagoon.

Courtyard View Rooms
Located in the Diamond Head Wing, Courtyard View rooms are spacious and comfortable. They have views of the plantation-style lobby entrance and courtyard. Each room offers guests the choice of two Double beds or a canopied four-poster King bed.

These elegant rooms are spacious and airy. Furnishings are a handsome mixture of mahogany furniture, teak parquet floors and hand-loomed Tibetan rugs. Grass cloth wall coverings and a blend of rich fabrics give a residential feel, and artworks by local Hawaiian artists add the finishing touch. For those with business to attend to, there’s a good size working desk and plenty of natural light through floor to ceiling windows. Also featured is an over-sized bathroom with dual wardrobe closets, 2 separate vanity areas, and separate glass shower and deep-soaking bathtub.

Garden View Rooms
Garden View rooms can be found on the ground floor of the two-story Dolphin Lagoon Wing, facing the private Waialae Country Club. Choice of two Double beds or a canopied four-poster King bed.

From these rooms, glass sliding doors open onto a patio where you can relax in lounge chairs with views of the resort’s tropical gardens. Mahogany and teak are abundant in the furnishings and on the floors, and the walls are covered with grass cloth for an extra touch of authenticity. Elsewhere you’ll find a working desk and floor to ceiling windows with Hawaiian–style plantation shutters to filter the natural sunlight and allow in welcome tropical breezes They also feature an over-sized bathroom with choice of bath or shower, two wardrobe closets and dual, freestanding vanity sinks with traditional faucets and porcelain handles.

Ridge View Room - No Balcony
For those who welcome a cooling breeze, the location of these rooms are perfect as they benefit from the northern trade winds. Furnishings are residential, with a handsome mixture of mahogany furniture, teak parquet floors, hand-loomed Tibetan rugs, grass cloth wall coverings and rich Hawaiian fabrics. The bathrooms recall the feel of a grand Hawaiian plantation home with their vintage furnishings and fixtures. They boast dual wardrobe closets, two separate vanity areas, and separate glass shower and deep-soaking bathtub. And the four poster or twin beds feature goose down duvets and Egyptian combed cotton Frette sheets.

Ocean View Room - No Balcony
Asian accents add warmth and ambience to these rooms which are designed with a residential, turn-of-the-century motif. Floor to ceiling windows allow in tropical breezes, and Hawaiian–style plantation shutters filter the natural sunlight. Furnishings are accented with a handsome mixture of mahogany furniture, teak parquet floors, hand-loomed Tibetan rugs, grass cloth wall coverings and a blend of rich fabrics. Dolphin Lagoon View Room - With Balcony
As the name suggests, these rooms are located in the two-story Dolphin Lagoon Wing and overlook the home of our playful resident Atlantic Bottlenose dolphins. Dolphin Lagoon View Balcony or the larger Deluxe Dolphin Lagoon View Balcony rooms open onto a balcony or outdoor patio and are available with either a canopied four-poster King Bed or two Double beds.

These extra large rooms are located in the two-story Dolphin Lagoon Wing and overlook the home of our playful resident Atlantic Bottlenose dolphins. Located in the Dolphin Lagoon Wing in a private, secluded area of the resort, our Beach Front View Balcony rooms open onto a balcony or patio with direct access to the beach. They are available with either a four-poster King bed or two Doubles.

These rooms are the closest to the beach, situated in the two-story Dolphin Lagoon Wing in a private, secluded area of the resort. First-floor rooms have glass sliding doors opening onto a patio with direct access to the beach, while second-floor rooms have a private balcony overlooking Kahala’s crescent-shaped ivory sand shoreline. Furnishings combine mahogany furniture with teak parquet floors and hand-loomed Tibetan rugs. They also have a well appointed work desk. This grand suite is the epitome of stylish living. It is located on the resort’s top floor of the Koko Head Wing, and has unobstructed, tropical views of the Pacific Ocean from its private furnished balcony. The suite consists of a living room, formal dining room and master bedroom with a canopied four-poster King bed.

This grand suite is the finest in the hotel, a favorite with visiting celebrities – and every US President since Richard Nixon. As well as the bedroom with its large four poster bed, the suite has its own spacious parlor with bar and a separate room with exercise bike. The suite integrates traditional designs from both Hawaiian and Asian cultures, whilst welcome contemporary touches include a personal fax machine and a mini home entertainment system. Our attentive staff will always ensure that fresh flowers are in place, as well as a basket of sun products, creams and towels, to ensure you can enjoy the Hawaiian sunshine safely. The dining room is a perfect place for entertaining or private meetings; and if you do have guests, there’s a powder room for them, in conjunction with the master bathroom that has a separate glass shower and relaxing whirlpool spa.
